You’ve heard it, you know what it’s all about, you know it’s key to content marketing. However, when it comes to explaining exactly what SEO is, it is radio silence. Search engine optimization or SEO is “the process of increasing the quality and quantity of blog traffic that increases the visibility of a blog for search engine users”. Basically, improve your unpaid results and improve the direct traffic to your site.
The truth is that search engine optimization requires a lot of research, time and effort. SEO for beginners or experts requires commitment and search left and right for information, guides and other tips. The goal remains the same for you and your business: increase organic traffic, improve unpaid results, and rank higher in Google search. This makes optimizing your blog posts with SEO. And it can be quite confusing if you are a beginner in search engine optimization, have just started your blog or do not know where to look. I know because I was in your place recently. Install the Yoast SEO Plugin
Yoast SEO is a free plugin that every blogger or company must install to get started. The basic plugin is free and offers great tips for writing blog optimization options. Once you have set up Yoast SEO, start writing a new post and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find the Yoast SEO tab.
The plugin primarily provides a checklist of things to do to optimize your search engine optimization blog post. The plugin lists “problems” and “good results”. Questions are basically things you can improve to make your blog post SEO-friendly. Note that this is just a checklist that can serve as a guide. Of course, writing an optimized blog post is more than just checking all the fields, but it offers a great introduction for SEO beginners.
Yoast SEO has a premium version of the plugin that offers several features that can be useful. For example, in the case of Yoast Premium, the tab lets you add keyword phrase synonyms and related terms, allowing you to optimize your blog post for more keywords. However, my favorite feature is still the Info tab, which shows you which words and word combinations appear most in your content. These indicate what your content is focused on and what Google thinks about your content. If the words are very different from the topic, you may want to rewrite the content accordingly.
Decide on a topic
It can pass without saying. You have to make decisions when choosing a topic. SEO best practice is to choose a topic that is already popular to make sure your audience already exists. This way you can guarantee traffic to your site. Sometimes, however, it is worth writing about a topic that is not so popular and has a much smaller audience. And that’s okay. After all, a blog is your creative space.
Some topics are more specific than others and not the kind of search that people write every day. However, if this is a topic you are really interested in writing about, do so. Although the audience will be much smaller, the competition is likely to be the same, which makes it easier to get higher rankings. Ideally, you should choose keywords with medium to high search rates and low to medium competition.
You can choose the topic of the article based on many things and ideas: what you like, something you experience, a question that was asked, etc. Once you have chosen your topic, you can research the topic to find keywords that will optimize your SEO blog post. Find related keywords
You have chosen the topic of your article and now you want to write it. If you want to increase your chances of search engines uploading your content, it should be SEO optimized and keyword rich. The first step is keyword search. You can find keyword ideas using various free software on the internet such as Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest or Wordstream.
When you type your topic in the search bar, they each suggest short- and long-tailed keywords and phrases to use in your blog post. Everyone has a search volume, which is an indication of popularity. While having a very popular keyword is great because it shows people are searching for that particular keyword, it also means that your content is competing with a lot of other content on the same topic and may not show up.
While choosing different hashtags with different Instagram popularity, related keywords and key phrases with different search volumes will also be used. Your audience may be smaller, but it increases your chances of getting high in search results. Additionally, sometimes changing the word order in a keyword phrase can completely change the odds of ranking higher. This is where search intent came into play.

You can do the same research multiple times with the same keywords, but in a different order. And that can make a difference. The algorithm is also intelligent and recognizes synonyms and related terms so that text can be arranged based on multiple keywords or at least multiple variations on the same topic.
For example, here my keyword is “SEO for beginners” and I’ve used a synonym like “optimize for blog posts” and two other related terms, such as “search engine optimization” and “search engine optimization”. Thus, this content is ranked based on these four related terms, not just the first keyword.
Format your post for SEO
Google’s algorithm wants structure, and adding titles to the copy helps break up the content. The title tag (or H1) is at the top of the blog post. This title will appear on your blog and at the top of your tab. The H2 title usually communicates the main topic of the content, and the caption at the bottom helps break the content down into smaller sections. Make sure the title is keyword rich.
Search engine optimization best practices want displays of up to 150 words. Paragraph length does not affect SEO. However, this affects the readability of the content for Google. Google likes shorter paragraphs because they help break up content and are easy to read. Nobody wants to read huge chunks of text.

That’s why Yoast SEO has a readability tab and lists things that can be improved.
Do not overdo the passive sound. Make sure you use an active voice and the sentences are short. It is better to have a few shorter sentences and split the text instead of 20 words and more sentences that are long read and that Google does not like. Google loves structure, so it helps the algorithm with transition words understand where the content is going.
Curate your snippet preview
The snippet lets you see what the page or post will look like in Google search results. It has an overview of mobile and desktop and shows elements like snail, title and meta description.
The title SEO is the first thing people see in the search results of posts and pages. In many cases, this is all that people see, so you need to get attention right away!
An SEO title is a title that you can see in Google search results. This is not a label, nor is it H1. Although the SEO title and title tags should be similar, they can be different, especially for SEO purposes. Make sure the SEO title includes the keywords and reflects the topic of your content.
The meta description
The meta description is the second most important element in the code snippet and is directly under the heading of optimization. Meta description is a short, concise description of the content. One sentence summarizes what the copy is about. When you search, Google looks for that keyword in the content and highlights it in the meta description. If the meta description does not include the keyword you are looking for, it removes a “random” piece of code from the page.
You need to accurately describe the main content of the post or page, include the keyword phrase and entice people to click on your result. If you want to avoid duplication, you can also play with synonyms or related keywords in the target description. When a search is performed, Google highlights the focus button in the target description and shows the person that they can find the answer to their question there.
The URL is the link you use to access the content. This is the address. The snail is part of the URL that you can optimize for search engine optimization and modify it to reflect the topic of the content. The snail should be short but should contain a focus keyword that tells Google about the link. By inserting the keyword phrase, Google and users can identify the subject of the post or page.
Optimize images for SEO
Images are essential for creating content. They will revive the article and contribute to SEO. Let’s be honest: good pictures are extremely popular on today’s social media. There are several things you can do to optimize your image optimization and improve the overall performance of your site.
First, select images that are relevant to your content. Before uploading to a web page, make sure you have JPEG files and compress them. If possible, reduce the image size. Speed is essential for good SEO and often images slow down your page. You can add a title and caption to your pictures. People first look at the images and scan them to get a better picture of the content. Always add alt text and use keywords to appear in the Google image.
Internal links are links pointing to pages in the same domain. Helps Google find, index and understand all pages on a page. Internal links can help send authorization to important pages. In short, internal links are key for any site looking to rank higher in Google.
Internal links are also great for improving blog visit times, website traffic and decreasing bounce rate. Linking blog posts can encourage a visitor to click on another post and spend more time on your blog.
If you’re linking internally as part of your SEO, pay attention to the text of the attachment you’re using. The attachment text is the text you see when you click the HTML hyperlink. While it doesn’t hurt to use the right text to link to a page, it’s best to mix up the anchor text to avoid unwanted appearances. Do not use the same text on two different pages and make sure that the text you use is relevant to the page you are linking to from the inside.
Links to social media help with optimization. Google basically uses links shared on Facebook and Twitter as its rankings. Links to social media are not considered unique, but are still related to search results. If you create good content, people will love and share it by linking and increasing the rankings.
